To discover webPDF in a quick and easy manner, the browser-based portal of the webPDF server is the most suitable way. The portal allows you to explore the various features of the server without having to do any web services integration yourself.
The portal of the server is designed as a web application and all functions of the portal are 100% based on the web services of the webPDF server.
You can also test the portal, and thus webPDF, without your own server installation. At the address https://portal.webpdf.de our demo server is available to you at any time.
The portal is always an integral part of the webPDF server and is thus available to any user. The portal can be used as a replacement for a locally installed PDF tool and can be used with any (modern) browser. No matter whether on the workstation computer or with a mobile device such as a tablet or cell phone.
In addition, the portal is the central point for the administrator to configure the webPDF server. All settings for the server can thus be made comfortable via the browser.
Access the portal
After installing webPDF (locally), launch a browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox or Edge) and enter the following URL:
After a short (loading) moment, the portal home page appears.
If you have not installed webPDF locally, then you need to replace localhost in the URL with the IP (or domain name) of the server (e.g. http://10.0.1.1:8080/webPDF or http://mein-server.local:8080/webPDF) where you have installed webPDF.
Creating a first PDF document
In the following short videos you will see how to perform the first steps in the portal where you upload a document, convert it, modify it and then download the created PDF document.
Login to the portal
After loading the portal page, the login appears. As shown in the video, you can log in as an anonymous user.
Uploading the source document
After logging in, you can immediately upload the document you want to convert into the portal. The document will be added to the central document manager of the portal.
Creating the PDF document
After the document has been uploaded and appears, it can be converted directly into a PDF document using one of the functions above the document manager.
View the document and make changes
After the PDF document is created, it can be displayed in the preview. There you can make further changes to the PDF document, e.g. rotate a page.
Download the final PDF document
After all changes have been made to the PDF document, the final step is to download the document from the portal to your local directory.
