Ports
To access the server functions and addresses, ports on the server or in the firewall must be opened. These are the ports for accessing
- the portal
- and the SOAP- and REST-Webservices
These settings can be made in the Admin Portal under the sidebar Connections.
In the standard installation, port 8080 is required for external access to the portal and the web services. This is the standard port for unencrypted HTTP access to the server and must be enabled for external access.
If you enable TLS encryption, you must also enable port 8443. This is the standard port for encrypted HTTPS access to the server.
Make sure that the ports are available on the server and not blocked by another application, otherwise the server will not be able to start.
Standard-Ports
| Protocol | Port number |
|---|---|
| HTTP | 8080 |
| HTTPS | 8443 |
If you want to use the standard ports for HTTP and HTTPS, enter the ports 80 and 443 in the configuration.
Internet access
For the conversion of certain content, such as HTML documents or e-mails (EML/MSG), the server may require external content (such as images) to be able to fully convert the documents into PDF documents. The server retrieves this content from the internet during the conversion, i.e. the server should have access to the internet. If it does not, certain content may be missing from documents when they are converted.
If external access is not allowed, this may increase the time required for conversion because requests may run into a timeout.
