TSA

webPDF supports time stamping in connection with electronic signatures.

Time stamps are provided by a "Timestamp Authority" (TSA). A timestamp is added—when the document is signed—via a URL and the "Timestamp Protocol." Time stamping is one of the requirements for a qualified electronic signature.

For webPDF to add a timestamp to its digital signature service for PDF documents, an appropriate URL must be specified in the configuration.

Configuration

Select Server -> TSA from the toolbar of the Admin Portal. In the dialogue box, select ‘TSA enabled’ to activate TSA use.

Enter the URL for the TSA and select the HASH algorithm that the TSA provider offers. Optionally, enter a username and password to access the TSA provider's endpoint.

Provider

Time stamp services are provided by a number of providers. Most of these services are not free and are usually invoiced based on the number of timestamps created.

Certain providers offer free time stamping services on the web. Most of these free services are provided for demonstration purposes only. The following URLs provide free demo services:
