License
webPDF is licensed without limitation in terms of hardware (CPU) or number of PDF documents created.
webPDF is licensed per server installation.
Each server license can be installed on one of the available platforms. Corresponding installation packages are available for download.
Each installation has two (2) instances per web service in the standard license, i.e. a maximum of two requests can be processed simultaneously per web service. If more requests are sent to the server, the server will hold these requests in a queue until corresponding instances are free. The number of instances thus determines the maximum execution of parallel requests without these requests having to wait and thus determines the data throughput per time unit. The number of instances (and thus the data throughput) can be adjusted by additional licensing.
webDF is a license for end customers for direct, own and exclusively internal use. webPDF may not be made accessible to third parties at any time. In particular, the provision of webPDF's web services (directly or indirectly) for third parties or as a service (e.g. as ASP or as SaaS) is excluded with this licensing.
The use in company groups and/or corporations, public institutions, data centers as well as the operation of applications as an ASP, SaaS or comparable solution are also excluded without independent licensing. A separate usage agreement (licensing) is required for these areas or types of operation.
Further information on licensing can be found on the website or in the license Conditions. If you have any questions regarding licensing, please contact support.
The pricing structure for these licenses can be found in the price List.
License activation
If you have purchased a license for the webPDF server, then you must enter this license into the server to activate it.
On Windows, you can enter the license during installation or later via the Admin Portal of the server (Windows and Linux). It is not necessary to reinstall the server.
When you purchase the license, you will receive a license certificate (as a PDF document) on which all relevant information is entered. On this certificate you will find
- the 'Licensee' and
- the
Activation key(the license key consists of five alpha-numeric blocks of six characters each and separated by a "-").
Both information must be entered at the server, which you can do most easily via the Admin Portal of the server.
Please ensure the licensee is typed correctly when you enter it.
See how to activate your webPDF license in the Admin Portal.
In the default installation webPDF works without a license certificate in demo mode. In demo mode, a watermark is added to each PDF document.
